This role will be placed into our large software services team, which means you'll be able to enjoy a stable work environment while drawing on years worth of experience in the industry from your fellow seniors and team lead.
But enough about us, what about you? The team here at NetValue is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator with a strong Windows focus to join us in our Hamilton office. You will need to have a passion for server administration, a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to keep up in a fast-paced, variable work environment. Ideally, we are looking for someone who has:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- 5+ years of experience in Windows system administration
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, including Windows Server and Windows 10
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and other Windows-based system management tools
- Experience with management of internal software development infrastructure, such as Jira, Confluence, or GitLab is a must
- Experience with virtualization technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Experience with single sign on systems
- Experience with implementing and maintaining ISO or SOC standards
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or CompTIA A+ and Network+ are a plus.
Your Key Responsibilities could include:
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and application software on Windows, Linux, or Mac desktops, laptops, and servers
- Monitor system performance, identify and resolve issues, and optimize system resources
- Implement and maintain security measures, such as firewalls and antivirus software, to protect against unauthorized access and malware attacks
- Manage user accounts and access privileges, including Active Directory and Group Policy administration
- Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity and business continuity
- Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Maintain documentation of system configurations and procedures
- Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure effective and efficient operation of the overall IT infrastructure
- Work with company stake holders to create and maintain SoC2 policies and processes
